New Facebook Scam

Cybertrace has been notified of a new Facebook scam.

The scammers gain control of a single user’s Facebook profile, then post the following and tag the person’s friends:

Sad News!! If you have family or neighbors in the city, you should check the list of victims. The drama has claimed many lives and the police are looking for the families of the victims.

There is a link in the post and it’s likely that once it’s clicked it redirects to a page which asks you to re-login to Facebook. But instead of logging in to Facebook, you’ve just unknowingly shared your login details with the scammers. Then the scammers will post the same content, tag all of your friends and the cycle carries on.
